I’ve known Mr. Weng, Daosheng for over 20 years now. His language of painting progressed from realism to contemporary while he has been sticking to his own ideas of creating art.One can see his loneliness yet persistence in his paintings. Nevertheless, he has been challenging himself to embrace changes in his paintings to the direction he visions. This journey hasn’t been easy at all. Because of the love of art, he moved all the way from Wenzhou to Beijing then to Dalian; because of the love of art, he gave up the better material life he might have had; because of the love of art, he gave up the ordinary lifestyle in search of the true meaning of art. Not everyone can be as courageous as he is, and this is all because that he believes in what he is doing and is determined to devote his life to it.

Mr. Weng, Daosheng is currently having two of his personal exhibitions in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. It is a great pleasure to have him here in Guanghan for another unique personal exhibition to share his work. The exhibition contains 50 pieces of his artwork, 20 of which are oil paintings and 30 are paintings on paper. These pieces were completed by him in the last 10 years and are expressions of his life experiences. They are also his deliberation of future art by continuing exploring art in an experimental way. There is a lot we all can learn either through his paintings or from his personal experiences, and we respect him very much.
